Collar Free was started by Pat Dillon and I as a way to change the

way trendy and fashionable clothing was created and as a way to reward and share the success of our company with our designers. We first started working together in a great company that taught young people the values of hard work, goal setting, persistence, striving for excellence, becoming great sales people, and the confidence derived from a great product.

    After we left that company, we both worked in several corporations and realized no one had the culture, values, or dreams we did. Companies wanted you to work 50 hours, collect your paycheck, and live your life outside of work. We know there are great companies out there, but none had the right mix. So we spent a year brainstorming. We were drawn to ideas that inspired creativity, rewarded those involved, provided opportunity for the talented yet undiscovered, and ideas that rocked the boat, went against the grain, and said “I can do this better.” We saw that most large companies lost flexibility when all creativity was internal and realized the power of collaboration. Most great ideas come from a designer in their studio, 2 guys in a garage with a computer, or customers and companies working together. This is why Collar Free was created.

    We are building a place where creative people from around the world come together to collaborate on ideas, design unique products, and determine the next trends. Our goal is to inspire and reward creativity, encourage people to think out of the box, and to share our passion for new things.
